Watching esports in a second language can feel like learning two games at once: the game on screen and the vocabulary around it. Arabic-speaking fans also hear English terms used by players and casters, while local broadcasts may translate the same idea in different ways. This glossary keeps the English term visible, gives a clear Arabic equivalent and explains how to recognise it during a match.

Arabic esports vocabulary is still evolving. Some terms are best kept in English when that is what players actually say; the goal is to explain the idea without forcing an awkward translation. These definitions are editorial explanations, not official publisher terminology. Game-specific rules and ability names can differ.

How to use the terms while watching

Choose one term before a match and look for its effect. If the caster says “map control,” check which routes are safe and who has information. If you hear “win condition,” ask what the team must protect, delay or contest. If a phrase is unclear, write down the game and the moment; a term can mean something narrower in one title than another.
